Shopping Haul from Crafts Villa

Hi friends! In the last week of July Crafts Villa sponsored a giveaway on Our External World. And I got a shopping voucher to try out their website. Happy me went ahead and browsed and browsed and browsed…. Yes Crafts Villa has over 800 vendors selling their products, over 75000, under one roof, whew!

Now when I received my parcel I thought I might as well share with you the whole experience of shopping with CraftsVilla.com

The main webpage presents you options of either checking out the different shops that they have or by browsing by different categories. Also on the main page you will see links for what’s trending and what’s discounting.

The products available range from handmade jewellery, handicrafts, to vintage and several other ethnic products. The main aim is to provide a platform for the local artisans to showcase their work and bring it closer to us as customers.

Once you decide to search a particular product, you can go to the category and then filter by different options presented to you. For the jewelry section you can filter by price, material, color and gender.

I chose a necklace and a pair of earrings from the jewelry section before browsing further to pick up a 3-box wooden set. Most of my products were from the seller Saanvi home shoppe (and they also offered free shipping)

Shipping on the site is dependent on the seller. Some sellers offer free shipping while others may charge anything between 30 to 75 rupees depending on the item purchased.

Once you have added products to your cart you can pay online (I paid using a credit card) and the products arrived within 4 days (different sellers ship their products separately and you will get a tracking number for every item purchased.)

Now a dekho into what I purchased. First the 3-box wooden set – this cost me only Rs 270 for 3 boxes! The boxes are made of wood with an old royal sort of finishing given to it.

A necklace – bright blue beads and silver metal to rock a plain black outfit.

And a cute pair of earrings – vintage brass with glass beads.

And here is the complete haul with a personal handwritten note from Monica at crafts villa (and she also threw in a surprise gifts – a soap from Nyasa)

Details at a glance
Product range: huge!
Price: some products prices are absolutely awesome – like the 3 box wooden set I got
Search options: name based, but several filtering options available
Price selector: has a fixed range
Payment options: various online options (no COD)
Shipping: depends on seller (international shipping available)
Shipping time: 7 working days (first item reached me in 3 days while others followed and everything was with me before 7 days)

What I liked
  • Huge product options
  • Prompt shipping
  • Good packaging
  • Easy online payment
What I did not like
  • should have a feature of allowing a price selector based on a slider bar (so that you can decide your own price range)
I had a coupon to shop from this website but my opinion is not biased and is a true reflection of what I felt shopping with them.
